Pharmacy First Kernow

Pharmacy First Kernow

From Monday 15th June 2026, the Cornwall Walk in Consultation Service will be rebranded as Pharmacy First Kernow.

This change forms part of a wider rebranding initiative to align our local service with the national Pharmacy First service and to ensure that pharmacy contractors continue to be remunerated for the peripheral services (that fall outside of PGDs) which they provide for patients.

As part of this update, the PharmOutcomes form has been updated and renamed. We would kindly ask that all relevant members of your team take some time to familiarise themselves with the updated form. There are useful notes on the left hand side of the service page to help you navigate the changes.

We appreciate that change can be challenging, and we are grateful for your continued commitment and flexibility. Please be assured that the changes to the service and PharmOutcomes form are designed to ensure that pharmacy contractors continue to be paid for their offerings which sit outside of the national Pharmacy First service, streamline the documentation of presenting conditions, and create distinction between local and national services.

Patients will be able to self refer or be informally referred by another healthcare provider or identified as suitable whilst in the pharmacy.
The service must be delivered by a Pharmacist and a consultation must be made in the consultation room with access to PharmOutcomes to complete in the moment as it will support the consultation with reg flags etc. Each completed consultation there is a fee of £14 payable to the Pharmacy, if a PGD is accessed, that is on top of the consultation fee.
We have a project team supporting this service, should you need any support please see contact details below;Drew Creek, Operations Manager, Cornwall LPC Drew@ccommunitypharmacycornwall.org
