WICS Extension

To all Pharmacy Teams

Thanks to your brilliant work on the walk in consultation service in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly We are delighted to be able to share that interim funding has been secured to allow the service to continue to support residents and visitors through the walk-in consultation service “WICS” beyond the expected end date of 31 March 2022. Please continue to keep records and submit claims through the PharmOutcomes platform as you have been doing.

The existing extensions to the emergency supply service (ESS), (the ‘in-hours’ extension and a supply of up to 14 days medication for residents and visitors alike), along with the extended range of conditions that may be managed under the minor ailment scheme (migraine and vaginal thrush) will also continue.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has worked so hard and during such extraordinary and challenging times to launch the new walk-in consultation service and to support approaching 2000 patients during the first 3 months. This is truly remarkable.
