Training Dates – Pharmacy Flu Vaccination Advanced Service 2017

Cornwall and Isles of Scilly LPC are working in partnership with the NPA to provide training and support for any pharmacist wishing to be able to deliver the recently announced NHS Advanced Flu Service that all community pharmacies are eligible to provide from September this year.

This training is open to all pharmacists regardless of NPA membership.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER:  It remains the personal and professional responsibility of the pharmacist, in all cases, to ensure that they are trained, confident and competent to offer the flu vaccination service including treatment of anaphylaxis and resuscitation techniques; the pharmacist must decide for themselves whether they should undergo the full vaccination training or the online refresher in view of this.

The full training covers intramuscular, subcutaneous, intranasal and intradermal vaccination techniques; basic life support and anaphylaxis management and access to the private PGDs.

The training will take place on Tuesday 22nd August at the Board Room at Narrowcliff Surgery, Narrowcliff, Newquay, TR7 2QF from  7 pm to 10.30 pm. A light buffet will be served at 6.30 pm.

Please let Phillip Yelling know you wish to attend on cornwalllpc@cornwalllpc.org or ring 07734056305, who will supply you with a form to fill out prior to the training. Please inform any locums who may wish to provide the service of this training.

The cost of the training is £85 plus VAT. This is a special price through Cornwall LPC for members and non members. An invoice will be sent to you direct from the NPA when you have registered. Please put Cornwall and Isles of Scilly LPC on the registration form.

Prior to attending the practical session it is essential to complete the NPA online learning + assessments.

You will be sent the link to the NPA online assessment by email after the NPA has received payment for the practical training.

Places are limited so please contact Phillip as soon as possible.
